The 10 Towers Trail – Discover 10 Magical Churches in the Beautiful Norfolk Countryside

The 10 Towers Trail is a new, 15 mile, circular route taking in some of Norfolk’s finest churches and towers.

The trail begins at St Peter’s Haveringland and leads walkers to a further 9 churches across the Reepham and Wensum Valley Team Benefice and the Aylsham and District Team Ministry, meandering though the countryside along footpaths and country roads.  Walkers are rewarded with a church every couple of miles and there is plenty to explore at each stop. A detailed guide containing maps and directions as well as points of local and historic interest has been created with the help of Broadland District Council.

For those who may find the full 15 miles challenging, there are shortcuts included to enable walkers to break the trail down into more manageable sections.

The project has been led by Nigel Boldero, Church Warden at St Peter’s, Haveringland and forms part of wider plans and to  repair and improve Haveringland Church. Recently the church was awarded nearly £200,000 of funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to “Build the Future and Repair the Past”. With this trail ramblers, historians and pilgrims alike will be able to discover our churches hidden stories and treasures.
