Words of Light and Hope from Tony Hawes
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives
light to all the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5.14-16
Do not be dismayed by the brokenness in the world.
All things break. And all things can be mended.
Not with time, as they say, but with intention.
So go……Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally.
The broken world waits in the dark-ness for the light that is you.

When I was in a dark cell for most of the time, a little beam of light would sometimes come through the shutters and illuminate the room.
I would say to myself, “Light is stronger than darkness. I must always keep hoping.”
Terry Waite
Some days you will be the light for others, and some days you will need some light from them.
As long as there is light, there is hope, and there is a way.

An Evening Prayer
Lighten our darkness, we beseech thee, O Lord;
and by thy great mercy defend us from the perils and dangers of this night;
for the love of thy only Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen. Book of Common Prayer
A Blessing
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
and be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance up-on you, and give you peace. Amen.
Numbers 6.24-26
