WORDS OF LIGHT AND HOPE
Sunday November 26th h 2023
Christ the King 1 before Advent

Sue Page LLM

It is the ending of the Gospel year;
We have walked with Jesus,
As baby, child and carpenter;
As teacher and storyteller;                                                                                                                                                                               As the Lamb who died and as the ‘Risen One’.
Creator God, help us not only to look back, but also to prepare again to look ahead                                                                              And to remember where the Baby came from;…
Not Nazareth, not Bethlehem, not earth
But before all things were created, BRF

The Entire Bible
Goes out of its way
To lift up
The orphan, the Widow,
The foreigner, the poor,
The prisoner, the grieving,
And the sick.
God loves the ‘Inconvenient’
Jesus is with them;
And I’m with Him.
I want to be where He is.

Advice from Ann Lewin                                                                                                                                                                          Practise resting in God’s presence by spending time with God in Prayer,                                                                                                and Pondering the Scriptures!                                                                                                                                                                           Then perhaps it won’t be such a surprise when
we find that simply being with god is all that is required of us]!
Prayer for the War torn,                                                                                                                                                                                  the Homeless, the Bereaved, the Injured                                                                                                                                                   and those fearful for their Lives and Future

ALMIGHTY and merciful God,
whose Son became a refugee and had no place to call
his own;
look with mercy on those who today are fleeing from
danger, homeless and hungry.
Bless those who work to bring them relief;
inspire generosity and compassion in all our hearts;
and guide the nations of the world towards that day
when all will rejoice in your Kingdom of justice and
of peace;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O God, give us a well of tears
to wash away the hurts of our lives.
O God, give us a well of tears
to cleanse the wounds,
to bathe the battered face
of our world.
O God, give us a well of tears
or we are left, like arid earth,
unsanctified.
