God of golden fields and blue skies   THANK YOU FOR SUMMER                                                                                                                                     God of white waves and wet pebbles THANK YOU FOR SUMMER                                                                                                                                      God of ripe plums and meadowsweet THANK YOU FOR SUMMER                                                                                                                                  Thank you for warmth and beauty and wonder THANK YOU FOR LIFE                      Ruth Burgess, from   Bare Feet & Buttercups

Our Will or God’s will                                                                                                                                                                                                      If God’s will should please you in this way, you would feel just as if you were in heaven, regardless of what happens or does not happen to you. But those who desire something different from God’s will get what they deserve: they are always in misery and trouble; people do them a great deal of violence and injury, and they suffer in every way.  We deafen God day and night with our words, “Lord, thy will be done.” But then when God’s will does happen, we are furious and don’t like it a bit. When our will becomes God’s will, that is certainly good; but how much better it would be if God’s will were to become our will. God needs nothing more from us than a quiet heart.                                                        Meister Eckhardt

Everyone belongs to God                                                                                                                                                                                                              Our gospel has been too small. It is, indeed, too small a thing to think that the hope of the world rests in our ability to recruit others into a religion which has too often made us morally worse. To confess that the hope of the world is Jesus Christ is to open ourselves to a kingdom beyond our control – beyond our imagination, even. It is to embrace the revolutionary notion that everyone belongs to God.      You must stand up and represent the gospel of the kingdom that shines for all people, no matter who they are.                                                                 Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove

And thus I understood that any man or woman who deliberately chooses God in this life, out of love, may be sure that he or she is loved without end. This endless love produces grace in them. For God wants us to hold trustfully to his: that we be as certain, in home, of the bliss of heaven while we are here as we will be, in fact, when we are there. And always the more delight and joy we take in this certainty, with reverence and meekness, the better it pleases God.                                        – Julian of Norwich

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,                                                                                                                                                                             Where there is hatred, let me sow love;                                                                                                                                                                                         Where there is injury, pardon;                                                                                                                                                                                                         Where there is doubt, faith;                                                                                                                                                                                                      Where there is despair, hope;                                                                                                                                                                                                           Where there is darkness, light;                                                                                                                                                                                                      Where there is sadness, joy.
