Words of Light and Hope from Sue Page, LLM

Sometimes a light surprises
The Christian while He sings;
It is the Lord who rises
With healing in his wings;
When comforts are declining,
He grants the soul again
A season of clear shining
To cheer it after rain
William Cowper
The Search
We came;
And waiting in the welcome,
Resting in well chosen words and silence,
Pausing in the love,
We came to seek.
Our yesterdays we left behind,
The humdrum kitchens of our lives,
The muddles and the stress,
Regrets and hurts,
Wounds, tears and business incomplete,
But also gleams of light and healing joy.
……….We came to start the search.
The silence held us in its hug,
The trees above were singing in the wind,
Grasses and thistles swayed…
But we were still;
Held in still hope,
Waiting in the silence
Resting… filled now with readiness
To start the search.
And once again……
As on a gust or breeze
Enveloping, embracing,
Here on the wind;
Here in our breath
Here in the tear-laden eye,
We found He had arrived;
Present in the moment filled with him.
Healing is this…
His life and warmth,
His presence
Spreading through all we are or ever will be.
The search is over, as again
We make the discovery that He is here,
Was here before the journey was begun.
We have been found! Sue Page

Signs Words from ‘Sacred Space’ from God sometimes seem desirable- And even reasonable to expect. Jesus reminds me that if I want them I may be looking in the wrong direction. I pray that I may appreciate and see where God is already at work in the events and relationships of my life. My prayer time can train the eye of my heart to recognise God at work in my life.
As I become more familiar with and trusting in God’s spirit, I need less proof and Am able to rely on what I have learnt. God trusts me. I learn to trust God’s Spirit within me.
