Words of Light and Hope from Sue Page LLM
WORDS OF LIGHT AND HOPE, Sunday April 14th 2024 Easter 3 by Sue Page LLM #
Regarding Spring We find ourselves surrounded by the Spring, see it in flowers and our orchard trees. The Lenten Roses turn like fasting souls, the Bleeding Hearts lean breaking in the fog. Pale plum buds that we peel with little knives show Christ’s five wounds, each blossom like a brain. Under our eaves, the robin’s muddy nest spills raving chicks, each pricked by their half-quills. The forest keeps close counsel, shrugs warm light, the fawn’s green rib blooms fungus in the rain. Fresh moss chews shingles, shamed trees bow away, and every little gift comes at a price. Now when we walk, we walk like in a dream. Understanding nothing. But we know what it means. Paul. J Pastor
A Prayer for All Lord of every generation, we lift before you: The elderly who have lived long, struggling with failing health; Those in the prime of life, distracted by many things; Young people with their energies and hopes for a better future; And our children, who inspire us to come with open hearts and curious minds To explore the mysteries and wonders of Your Love. Come close to each generation, Lord, And make each a blessing to the other. Amen BRF
Two Laws Our work must follow two laws. We may not bear grudges against anyone, for the kingdom of God is God’s love for all people. And we must not annoy, scorn, or despise any of the poor as of less value than ourselves. You are yourself a miserable wretch if you treat them as though they were of no value. We must always have God’s values before our eyes. God’s treasure lies within each person, not with the great and powerful of this earth. We must firmly believe that each person is destined for the kingdom of God, so let us stop judging and condemning them. C Blumhardt
You don’t need to create your own Hope The sky is full of it. Wake up early one day [I dare you] and watch the sun rise. Watch how it encourages The earth To become itself…only more so, Watch how it allows all things [even the sad beings] to be colourful and beautiful, then listen, listen as it says, quietly, undoubtedly, “we begin again!
